From chaos to confidence –
summer program

Every child deserves the tools to feel capable and confident — at school, at home, and with their peers. For children who struggle with focus, organization, or managing big emotions, those tools don’t always come naturally. The good news is that they can be learned.

From Chaos to Confidence is a structured, evidence-informed psycho-educational group designed to help children ages 8–12 build core executive functioning skills in a warm, supportive small-group setting.

What are executive functioning skills?

Executive functioning skills are brain-based abilities that help children manage their thoughts, emotions, and actions.

When these skills are underdeveloped, children may appear distracted, impulsive, disorganized, or emotionally reactive — even when they are bright and capable.

This Summer program focuses on building those skills explicitly, systematically, and with confidence.

They include:

  • Sustaining attention and staying on task
  • Planning, organizing, and following through
  • Regulating emotions and managing frustration
  • Shifting between tasks and thinking flexibly
  • Solving problems and considering different perspectives

How it works

From Chaos to Confidence is structured to support both children and their families throughout the program.

Intake

The first step is a brief 15-minute parent intake consultation to learn more about your child’s needs and confirm that this program is the right fit.

Child sessions

Children participate in 6 in-person small-group sessions (90 minutes each), with a group of 5–6 peers.

Each session includes skill instruction, interactive activities, role-play, structured practice, and real-world application.

Parent sessions

Two virtual parent sessions (60 minutes each) provide psychoeducation about executive functioning, align home support with group skills, and give parents practical tools to reduce conflict and support independence.

Skills that we build

Children practice social problem-solving, flexible thinking, considering multiple solutions, and navigating peer challenges with confidence.

Focus & Organization

Children develop task initiation strategies, planning tools, visual organization systems, and approaches to breaking down overwhelming tasks into manageable steps.

Cognitive Flexibility & Confidence

Children build frustration tolerance, a growth mindset, recovery skills after mistakes, and confidence through small, consistent wins.

Executive skills Summer camp

Who is this program a good fit for?

This program may be a good fit if your child:
Has ADHD (diagnosed or suspected)
Struggles with focus, organization, or task completion
Becomes easily overwhelmed or frustrated
Has difficulty shifting between tasks or adapting to change
Is bright but inconsistent in their performance at school
Would benefit from building skills in a small, supportive peer group
Please note: This program may not be appropriate for children requiring intensive behavioural intervention, crisis-level support, or individual therapy for complex mental health conditions. A brief intake screening will help determine fit.

Is this program right for my child if they haven't been diagnosed with ADHD?

Yes. Many children who struggle with focus, organization, or emotional regulation benefit from this program regardless of whether they have a formal diagnosis. The intake consultation helps us determine if it’s the right fit.
