Behnam Kohandel holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. He is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, registered as Chartered Psychologist. He is also a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists as a registered psychologist.
With 2 decades of experience, he has provided counselling services for couples and adults, presenting with issues ranging from difficulty with anxiety and panic attacks, stress management, depression, childbirth trauma, postpartum depression, emotional and binge eating, psychosomatic issues, PTSD and complex trauma, extramarital relationship, pre-marital counselling, anger management, self-esteem, procrastination, and perfectionism.
Behnam uses Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and has extensive training in different mind-body and energy psychology approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping) and Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT) for using chakras to release negative emotions and beliefs. Behnam also uses dream work based on client’s interest.
Behnam has 10 years experience supervising practicum students and interns for registering with College of Alberta Psychologists. He speaks fluent in English and Farsi.
